Given that the Wolfson prize is for authors whose books combine rigorous historical research with engaging narrative, all those on the shortlist are winners already. Congratulations!

I’m listening to The Eagle and the Hart on audiobook at the moment from my local library - it’s not a period I know much about but you make it so accessible!

How did I miss this bookmark opportunity?! They’re stunning.

Huge congratulations on the shortlisting. Your writing has always completely sung from the page so it’s no surprise to see you on the list.

Many congratulations for getting on the short list for the Wolfson prize! I collect bookmarks, and those bookmarks look amazing- I would love to have them! (I live in India, though… would that be a problem?)

I NEED those bookmarks - and your draw-day is my birthday, so here’s hoping that’s a sign even Richard’s astrologers would recognise…

I'm reading your new book the eagle and the Hart. Really enjoying it. I feel sorry for Richard although he has relations he does not seem very close to them.

Book shows the pressures of being royal and coming to the throne too young.

Thanks for reorganizing your H-Files. It's fantastic now. I would also love to win these elegant bookmarks.

Are there any plans to bring out a German version of 'The eagle and the hart'? In 2027 a movie about Richard II will come out which will be called 'The rage'. I have heard about it because part of it will be produced in Bavaria. So it might be worth considering. 😀

Congratulations on your shortlisting for The Wolfson Prize. I read The Eagle and the Hart, and didn't want it to end! So fluently written and full of fascinating detail.

This post is an interesting insight into the life of a professional historian.
